The Orlando real estate market is always red hot, no matter what. There was a time when properties nationwide took a big hit about a decade ago, and of course vacation properties had it the worst. You can imagine that Orlando being a major vacation destination meant that property values were largely readjusted, and people weren’t exactly buying up vacation properties at the time. I didn’t buyin Orlando, but I did buy in a market that was struggling post-recession. I purchased the property for about a quarter of what it was worth 6 years prior. That tells you right there that it was a buyer’s market due to property values being low, kind of like searching for discount stocks.
